Second Investor Summit of Udham Singh Nagar District

At this summit, held at Radisson Hotel, Pantnagar, SNSF Rudrapur and Dana Anand India Private Limited were recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation for their CSR activities in the government schools of Rudrapur city. The Uttarkhand State Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat presented the certificate to Ms. Vijaya Sundararajan, SNSF location manager, and Ms. Rubi Borah, Head HR, SIPL (North).

Program ABLE Workshop

The SNSF team involved in Program ABLE (Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment), an initiative of the American India Foundation (AIF), conducted a workshop at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi, and SRS Logicare (manpower provider to Reliance warehouses) to sensitize the teams there on how to integrate persons with disabilities (PwDs) into the workplace. SNSF ABLE alumni are already working in these two organizations.

Bhoomi Pujan at Chalkewadi

A major initiative of SNSF is developing Chalkewadi, near Satara, as a model village. Key functionaries from the local administration, including Mr Sanjay Dhamal (Block Development Officer, Satara), attended the Bhoomi Pujan. It was Mr Dhamal’s first visit to Chalkewadi, and he discussed how the community could make their village a part of the final list being considered for development as a Smart Gram.

Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

The Annual Prize Distribution ceremony, held at the SNSF partner school Government School, Ramnagar, was attended by Ms. Rubi Borah, Head HR, SIPL (North). Dana Anand India Private Limited supports SNSF Rudrapur under its CSR mandate. The chief guest, Block Education Officer, Mr. Matadeen Gautam, addressed the students as well as appreciated the ongoing infrastructure development work undertaken by SIPL and SNSF.

Visit to Akshardham Temple Complex

In an endeavour to enrich their personalities both socially and culturally, the 29 MEDHAVI awardees of SNSF Gurugram pursuing their Diploma in Mech/Automobile Engg at Government Polytechnic, Manesar, were taken for an exploratory visit to the Akshardham Temple Complex, New Delhi. For most of the awardees, this was the first time they had travelled on the Delhi Metro.

SNSF Trustees’ Visit

SNSF Trustees Mr. C.S. Patel and Mr. P. Arul Kumar were joyously welcomed by students and village elders when they visited the upcoming model village of Rohile. The trustees interacted with the residents, including individual women entrepreneurs, on the benefits of the developmental tasks undertaken by SNSF and how they would take them forward under their own steam.

ABLE programme graduation ceremony

SNS Foundation’s skill development vertical began its engagement with persons with disabilities (PwD) in the year 2012. Recently it completed the training of its 500th youth candidate under the category of PwD and aims to cross the 600th mark by March 2020. In its endeavour of providing skills training and promoting livelihoods among PwD, it is supported by the American India Foundation (AIF).

In 2019-20, this partnership project of AIF and SNSF, titled ABLE or Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment has AT&T as its principal sponsor. On September 25th, it was a proud moment for the SNSF and AIF teams when the first graduation ceremony of ABLE graduates for the year 2019-20 was graced by senior dignitaries from AT&T India and the Asia Pacific – Mr. Arun Karna, Managing Director, AT&T India; Mr. Bernard Yee, Region President Asia Pacific, AT&T and Ms. Mary Beth Asher, Vice President, Asia Pacific, AT&T. The event was adorned with success stories of ABLE graduates who have defied various odds to earn their rightful place in society as well as of their parents who too have had their own share of struggles bringing up a child with disability. The guests enjoyed their interaction with ABLE graduates and with much keenness learnt some basic sign language. As is customary, the event drew to a close with national anthem in sign language.

SNSF, Jodhalli facilitates sports competition for school children

Cluster Level Sports Competition was conducted at SNSF partner school, Sangameshwar High School in Jodhalli, Karnataka . On this occasion, the President of School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC), Sangameshwar High School along with SDMC members, teachers and residents of Jodhalli appreciated the work undertaken by SNSF under the Dana Anand India CSR initiatives for improving the quality of education in schools of the region. 372 students from six schools of the block, Kalghatagi participated in the various sports competitions. Students of Sangameshwar High School won 1st prize in Volleyball and Kho Kho and 2nd prize in Kabaddi.

SNS Foundation constructs new classrooms for Panchayat Union Middle School in Chennai

On September 4th, 2019 two new classrooms were inaugurated at Panchayat Union Middle School, Mamandur Thenpathi. The construction was undertaken by SNS Foundation (SNSF) Chennai team utilising CSR contributions of two companies, Faurecia Clean Mobility and CY Myutec ANAND. Senior dignitaries including Mr. Mun Jae Lee, Managing Director, CY Myutec ANAND, Mr. Krishnan, Chief Educational Officer, Maduranthagam Block; Mr. Murali, Block Development Officer, Maduranthagam; Mr. Hariharan, Head, School Management Committee and Mr. Velu, Head, Parents-Teachers Association graced the inauguration event.

As a mark of growing acceptance of SNS Foundation in the community, the expenses for all the arrangements towards the inaugural event were borne by the school and village fraternity. SNSF has been associated with this school since 2015 supporting it with additional teachers to bridge learning gaps among students and working towards development of its infrastructure. Prior to construction of the classrooms, washroom facilities for girls, boys and staff were created. In 2016, SNSF’s inputs to improve the quality of instruction and infrastructure saw the school being adjudged as the best Government Middle School in Kanchipuram educational division.
